Keep a watchful eye over yourself as if you were your own
enemy; for you cannot learn to govern yourself, unless you
first learn to govern your own passions and obey the
dictates of your conscience.

So many gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
When just the art of being kind
Is what the whole world needs.

To an enemy, give forgiveness;
to an opponent, tolerance;
to a friend, your heart;
to your child, a good example;
to thy father, deference;
to your mother, good conduct;
to yourself, respect;
to all, love and kindness.

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and happy would surely lose its meaning were it not balanced by sadness. The little troubles and worries of life, so many of which we meet, may be stumbling blocks in our way, or we may make them stepping stones to greatness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity. Troubles are often the tools by which Spirit fashions us for better things.

The wealth of a soul is measured by how much it can feel; truth lies within your soul expressed through your feelings.

Read biographies to learn from the great. Read text books to learn new knowledge. Read best sellers for their wisdom. Make it a habit to refresh your mind and learn something new every day.
Stop looking for advice from friends that have less success than you do. Get someone who's done it and knows how to do it and - most of all - can teach you how to do it.
At the same time, show your light to others. You can be the light tower house to them. Your success is directly connected to your ability to help others get what they want. Start helping others succeed. They'll return the favor.
